FREIGHT (2018 - )

“Freight” is 60 mins. site-specific choreography for 5-10 dancers that explores the idea of immigration and womanhood through the individual experiences. The thematic starting point: Five women are ready to leave and waiting for a train at the Union train station, but the train never comes. This train station has been closed for a long time and is no longer functioning, but they don’t know that. Sourcing from personal experience, this work is about the in-between life of an immigrant and challenges immigrant women and artists face and experience. Through movement and physicality, I am interested in exploring a different, often conflicting emotions and thoughts, translating them into a unique dance work.
